West Ham United have stepped up their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Hammers had an £18m bid for the Portugal international turned down by Barca last week.

Sky Sports says the east London club have now returned with an increased offer of £20m.

West Ham have placed Gomes at the top of their wish-list, but Everton remain favourites to sign the 25-year-old.

Gomes impressed on loan with the Toffees this season, making 29 appearances across all competitions.
