West Ham remain in the boxseat to sign Toulouse defender Issa Diop.

The Daily Star says Toulouse's star centre-half is set to seal a £22m move to the London Stadium.

Despite interest from Sevilla in France Under-23 captain Diop, West Ham have won the race.

The Hammers have targeted defensive reinforcements following the arrival of manager Manuel Pellegrini.

No Premier League club conceded more goals in England's top flight last season as West Ham sneaked clear of relegation, finishing in 13th.

Diop, 22, has been identified as a player with plenty of potential and talent who can fill in at the back.
