West Ham eyeing Sunderland striker Wickham

West Ham United are monitoring Connor Wickham's situation at Sunderland.

The Sun says Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is seeking a physical presence for his attack after losing Andy Carroll for four months with an ankle injury.

The under pressure Irons manager is keen to bring Wickham to London and is aware of his row with Sunderland management.

Black Cats boss Gus Poyet has told Wickham to sign a new contract or be sold.

Newcastle United are also interested in the England U21 international.
