West Ham eyeing Chelsea defender Gary Cahill

West Ham are eyeing Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.

The Mirror says Manuel Pellegrini has the support of the board as he examines his options in the mid-season market.

The Hammers' fine run of form - wins at Everton and at home to Man United and a draw against Chelsea - was undone before the international break with defeat at Brighton.

Cahill, 32, is out of contract next summer. He has suggested he is open to listening to offers in January as he looks for regular first-team football.

West Ham have kept just one Premier League clean sheet in their eight so far this season.
