West Ham co-chairman slams McCarthy for sexist comments

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has hit back at Benni McCarthy for his 'sexist comments' regarding Karren Brady.

Former West Ham United striker McCarthy was critical of club vice-chairman Brady and had recently stated that women should not be involved in football.

McCarthy had told French publication So Foot: “I saw so many things in my life and in football for me, it was nothing. Women and football, it's not such a good combination."

Gold posted on Twitter in response to McCarthy's comments about Brady: “More importantly Benni. Footballers and beef burgers don't mix."
