West Ham closing on deal for Swansea goalkeeper Fabianski - and Mawson

West Ham are closing on a deal for Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Mirror says the Hammers hope to make it a double raid on Swansea by snapping up Alfie Mawson too.

Getting a deal for goalkeeper Fabiasnki, 33, over the line is the Hammers' immediate priority.

They are hoping to sign him before Poland's World Cup campaign begins against Senegal next Tuesday. They fear their attempts to sign him could be complicated if he wins his battle with Wojciech Szczesny to be Poland's No1 and impresses in the tournament.

Swansea initially wanted £9m for Fabianski, who has one year left on his current contract, but West Ham hope a fee of around £7m will be enough to get a deal done. They will then turn their attention bolstering their defence with the capture of centre-back Mawson, 24.
