West Ham chief Gold: Man Utd, England destined for Sunderland boss Bruce

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold believes Sunderland won't be the last job of Steve Bruce.

Bruce fell out with Birmingham board members after six years in charge following a contract row before going to Wigan in 2007.

But he comes face to face with his old sparring partners at Upton Park tomorrow and Gold told the Daily Express: "We haven't spoken since he left and I want to believe he has no issue with me. I'll hold out my hand to him. It was a paltry amount to fall out over given the fabulous years we had together.

"I said several years ago Steve had the makings of a manager who could do either of those jobs [United and England] and nothing has changed that view."
