West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is actively seeking to strengthen his defence ahead of the summer market.

The Mirror says after a productive first season as Pellegrini is looking at strengthening his defence.

The Hammers are said to be looking at Alaves centre-back Guillermo Maripan and Olympiakos left-back Leonardo Koutris.

Pellegrini is hoping defensive additions with help form his side's bid for European football next season.

The Hammers host Southampton on Saturday.
