West Ham boss insists Payet problem not serious

Dimitri Payet will be fit to take his place in the France squad for this summer's European Championships.

The star playmaker missed West Ham United's season-ending 2-1 loss to Stoke City on Sunday with a foot issue but manager Slaven Bilic has allayed fears that his injury will be a problem regarding his presence in the Les Bleus roster at Euro2016.

"It is not serious, but it was serious for this game," said Bilic of West Ham's Player of the Year.

"It happened in the beginning of the game against Manchester United (on Tuesday) and he tried to put his boot on yesterday and it was really painful.

"It is a dodgy spot and it was impossible for him to play today."

Payet was named in Didier Deschamps' 23-man France squad last week.
