West Ham boss Grant: Sack rumours do not bother me

West Ham United boss Avram Grant insists he can still lift the club away from relegation.

Grant is convinced he and his under-achieving side will come good in the end and beat the drop.

He said: "In football you can go from zero to hero and hero to zero very quickly.

"When I was in the Champions League final with Chelsea I didn't think I was a genius. You always want to give the fans a reason to be happy and what we saw in the last weeks was good - apart from the last match. We are doing everything to be happy and despite everything, the fans will be happy in the end.

"In football, many people say you are only as good as your last result but we know what we are doing. In the last five games we won two and drew two and then came a bad result.

"It is very important not to analyse just one game.

"We are only two points from 14th place and five from 11th - and there are a lot of games left."
