West Brom wrapping up deal for Zenit striker Rondon

West Brom are closing on a deal for Salomon Rondon.

The Express & Star says Zenit St Petersburg have accepted a fee from the Baggies and the Venezuela forward has finalised personal terms and passed a medical.

Albion hope to gain international clearance for the 25-year-old by Monday, although he will not be eligible to figure in the opening game of the season against Manchester City.

Rondon will join Rickie Lambert and Saido Berahino in the battle for attacking places, but his arrival could pave the way for either Victor Anichebe or Brown Ideye to depart.
