West Bromwich Albion are prepared to return to new contract talks with Saido Berahino.
The People says West Brom have pulled out of contract talks with Berahino.
Discussions over a new agreement are now on hold while West Brom await the outcome of Berahino's arrest for drink-driving.
He was interviewed by police after a member of the public reported a car travelling at high speed in Cheshire.
Berahino, 21, faces a penalty of up to six months in prison, a £5,000 fine and a driving ban of at least one year if charged and found guilty.
He earns £12,000-a-week at West Brom and was set for a wage hike as well as a contract extension.
