Tony Pulis is set to be named new manager of West Bromwich Albion.

The Daily Star says former Crystal Palace and Stoke manager Pulis could be in charge by the weekend as Albion look for a quick appointment.

Head coach Alan Irvine was sacked on Monday night and Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace has moved quickly to get his man.

And now it looks like the 56-year-old Welshman has edged out former Tottenham man Tim Sherwood in the race for the job.
