West Brom's Pocognoli to miss Belgium matches

Sebastien Pocognoli has been withdrawn from the Belgium squad for their upcoming fixtures.

The 27-year old left-back sustained a hamstring injury in the weekend's 2-0 loss to Newcastle United and will now miss Belgium's friendly with Iceland this Wednesday and Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier with Wales.

Baggies boss Alan Irvine told the club's official website that he hopes the week off can allow Pocognoli to be back for the November 22 meeting with Chelsea.

"It is not a major problem," he said.

"Sebastien should recover from it quite quickly. The international break allows him an opportunity to do so."

Pocognoli, who joined Albion from Hannover in the summer, has made 10 Premier League starts for the West Midlands club so far this season.
