West Brom's Hodgson happy to hand Premier League debut to Jones

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson says he has no problems in handing a Premier League debut to Billy Jones this weekend.

Despite Sunday being the Black Country derby against Wolves at The Hawthorns, Hodgson is toying with the idea of starting the 24-year old former Preston North End star if Steven Reid's fractured hand keeps him out of the line-up.

"It will open the door for Billy," Hodgson told the club's official website.

"He is ready for the Premier League and we believe in him.

"Right from the first moment we thought we'd done the right thing bringing Billy in - and he's improved.

"Every time he's played he's had tough games.

"He played against Olympiakos and Southampton during pre-season and at Bournemouth and Everton in the Carling Cup.

"On each occasion he's done well and he's getting better and better.

"We believe in him strongly."
