West Brom move for Villa's Moore

West Brom want to sign Luke Moore on loan from local rivals Aston Villa in a bid to boost their strikeforce for the promotion run-in.

Veteran Albion striker Kevin Phillips has an on-going knee problem, while Roman Bednar pulled his groin at Barnsley on Saturday and Ishmael Miller is still working his way back to full fitness following a hamstring injury.

Boss Tony Mowbray may try to delay a loan deal for wantaway Villa hitman Moore until the start of next week, as he could then sign him for a 93-day period which would take in the Championship play-off final.

Albion tried to land Moore in the summer deal which saw Curtis Davies move to Villa Park - but the 21-year-old chose to fight for a first-team place.
