Moore lined up against Anelka for both Albion and Derby County during his playing days and admits that few strikers were feared more than the prolific Frenchman.
“He may be 34 but he is still fit and able and he will do a lot of damage this season,” said Moore to the Birmingham Mail.
“I remember playing against him – he was a very good player.
“I always used to think when Nicolas was at his peak that he was in the shadow of Thierry Henry a little bit. Everyone was comparing him to Henry, but it was the great man himself who was taking centre-stage,
“I think he’s every bit as good as Henry, maybe he just used to go about his work in a slightly quieter manner."
