West Brom defender Gonzalo Jara will not be able to be recalled from international duty with Chile.
Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo wanted the 24-year old to return to the UK for this weekend's action but the Chilean FA have decided he is required for their final World Cup qualifier against Ecuador despite already booking their place in South Africa.
"Unfortunately the Chilean FA declined our request," Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail.
"We asked if he could come back and they said no.
"They've qualified for the World Cup already and we'd loved to have had him here, not least because of the time difference.
"He'll now be back on Friday and it doesn't give him much time to recover so we will have to wait and see."
