West Bromwich Albion are competing with LA Galaxy for Aston Villa striker John Carew.
The Daily Mail says the Baggies are trying to seal a six-month deal for Carew in time for him to make his debut at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
LA Galaxy have also expressed an interest but Roberto Di Matteo is looking to close a deal that has been in the pipeline since December.
Personal terms are the stumbling block.
