Werder Bremen veteran Pizarro: I wish I'd worked with Klopp

Former Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro has spoken of his admiration for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Peru international Pizarro is still playing top-flight football at the age of 41, and has featured 16 times for Werder Bremen this season during what is his fourth spell at the club.

Pizarro has also had two different spells at Bayern Munich and played in the Premier League for Chelsea, ensuring that is one of the select group of footballers in the world who can say he has been managed by both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.

“Unfortunately Jurgen Klopp is missing from the list, I have never been allowed to work with him,'' the 85-times capped international told Weser-Kurier.

“That would have appealed to me very much. I hope that I can get to know Klopp in the future and that I can also see his training sessions.

“Without a doubt, I would have liked it very much to work with such a trainer. I find Klopp totally exciting from a player's perspective."
