Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised the attitude of captain Thomas Vermaelen.

Out-of-form Vermaelen was back on the bench on Tuesday when Everton shared the points from an Emirates stalemate. Wenger insisted his skipper had not thrown his toys out of the pram.

He said: "Like every player he's disappointed not to play, which is normal. He deals with the situation in a fantastic way."
