Wenger delighted with Arsenal's mental strength after Chelsea win

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hailed his players' mental strength after their 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

"We have shown great mental strength to bounce back after (losing against) Middlesbrough," he told Sky Sports 1 after seeing William Gallas' goal edge the 1-0 win.

"The defence was outstanding because they kept a clean sheet and also scored a goal (through Gallas).

"But there is nothing decisive. Liverpool have lost many points at home, they need to come back but are still in contention and Chelsea today showed they can still fight for the championship.

"But at the moment the most consistent are Manchester United and Arsenal."

Chelsea boss Avram Grant saw his side's hopes suffer a severe blow when captain John Terry was forced off with a foot injury in the first half.

But while it looked like a bad injury, Grant insisted there was no break, defusing fears of a broken metatarsal.

"It was a bad injury," Grant told Sky Sports 1. "It was bad for us, especially after losing so many players (before the match).

"He (Terry) is not feeling well but he didn't break anything. We will wait for tomorrow to see how it is.

"The (possible damage to his) ligament will wait for tomorrow."
