Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed deals for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi and Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez.
Wenger who watched his side defeat Watford 3-1 to claim their first Premier League victory of the new season, had been under pressure to recruit a new forward and defender and looks set to do exactly that in a £52million double swoop.
In an interview with Sky Sports after the match Wenger said that they had “bought" the pair, who will be the Gunners final signings of the window, but in his post-match press conference he cautioned that there remained a few details to be finalised before Arsenal were able to announce the La Liga duo's arrival, which is expected to be confirmed on Monday.
“They should go through. Both of them had medicals and we have to finish the paperwork," Wenger said.
“I don't know exactly when we will announce it, I think the beginning of the week."
