Weir tribute to Rangers pal Hemdani

Rangers defender David Weir has praised Brahim Hemdani for the way he has accepted his Champions League specialist role this season.

"I've not known anything like it to that degree," the 37-year-old says. "Brahim played week-in, week-out last year and I don't know if it is because we have changed or because there are many European games that his situation is different. Football's changing and having big squads is part and parcel of that. There will be changes regularly in the team when you play as many games as we do.

"I think it must be very difficult for him. In an ideal world you would be playing every game or you would be involved and able to get into a bit of rhythm. Credit to Brahim, when he has come in he has done very well. That is not easy and people should not underestimate that fact."
