Webster insists Brighton were 'better team' in Chelsea draw

Adam Webster insists Brighton were the better team in their clash with Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Seagulls secured a deserved 1-1 draw thanks to Webster's equalising header in the second-half.

"I think for the whole game we were the better team," Webster told BT Sport.

"They had a spell at the end but other than that we were the dominant team and on another day hopefully get three points.

"In the first half we were by far the better team. It was a goal from nowhere. It was a bit of a low blow for us but we stuck in there. We have always shown character to come back and get something from the game.

"The whole squad... Steven Alzate came in tonight and played out of his skin. He's not played 90 minutes in a long time and did outstanding. We have quite a few missing through injuries so it shows the strength in depth we have got in the squad and it gives the manager a headache.

"We like the physical battles. Romelu Lukaku is a world-class player. I'd never played against him before so it was a challenge but we showed we could deal with him."
