Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he and his Manchester United colleagues used to get stuck into Cristiano Ronaldo because of his dress sense.
In the wake of Ronaldo's press conference walkout on Tuesday, ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League clash with AS Roma on Wednesday night, Ferdinand told BT Sport that perhaps the Portuguese has now 'gone off' him.
Ronaldo mentioned that he did not share a bond with his United teammates like Barcelona stars Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar do.
He said: "When I was at Manchester United with [Paul] Scholes, [Ryan] Giggs and [Rio] Ferdinand we only said 'good morning' and 'good night' and we were formidable on the pitch."
During the coverage of Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 first leg, Ferdinand said that Ronaldo hates the fact Barca continue to get more publicity than he and Real which is the reason for his surly behaviour in the presser.
And the Red Devils great could not resist having a cheeky little dig at Ronaldo for the way he used to rock up to training when he was with United.
"He's gone off me! He used to live next door to me. Unbelievable! He didn't like my cooking," said Ferdinand.
"That [the Ronaldo press conference] just shows the emotion he's got in him and the desire to win and the desire to get back on top.
"At the moment everyone's talking about Barcelona and he's not happy with that. And that's his competitive streak coming out.
"I actually used to take the mick out of him in the changing rooms, I think he's got the hump. He used to come in in tight jeans and we used to murder him. He didn't get it."
