We should have beaten Italy - England keeper Hart

England goalkeeper Joe Hart was of the belief that Tuesday night's friendly with Italy should not have ended in a draw.

The Azzurri and Three Lions traded goals through Graziano Pelle and Andros Townsend either side of half-time to draw 1-1 at the Juventus Stadium in Turin but Hart felt the performance of he and his teammates warranted a win.

"We've dominated a lot of games and we anticipated doing that tonight but we didn't," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"We got told that (at half-time). We showed what you want to show in the second half. We got on with it - we got stuck in. I think Italy were happy with the 1-1.

"It could have - and should have - been a victory. We had enough chances. Buffon is a fantastic goalkeeper. He made some big saves for them.

"It was promising but we want to win those games. A 1-1 is nice after being 1-0 down but we'd like to have won.

"We know there is progress. We know it every day in training. We know it with the squad, the pace, the power, the organisation that we've got. It was nice to readjust after a very disappointing first half."
