We have to keep the team together - Man Utd midfielder Mata

Juan Mata has urged Manchester United not to dwell on the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

Chelsea claimed a thumping 4-0 victory over United on Sunday during former manager Jose Mourinho's first game back at Stamford Bridge since being sacked last season and following the result, many have understandably questioned United's credentials for the current campaign.

While the defeat was most certainly disappointing, attacking midfielder Mata is not planning to dwell on the result and has now urged his teammates to deliver a response in the coming matches.

Mata told MUTV: "The game changed completely (after Pedro's 1st-minute goal).

"It was a very, very early goal and it made the game very difficult for us from that moment, but we still had 89 minutes to try to score and we didn't. It's not the time to think about these kinds of mistakes.

"It's time to think about keeping the team together, being strong in our mind and face the next game, which is a very important game in these conditions.

"We felt the same after the third goal, we were playing in their half and trying to create and then we conceded on the counter-attack."
