Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne has been given a boost of confidence from his teammates.

The 24-year-old Belgian star is a strong target for Manchester City who are believed to be readying a bid in excess of £50million.

The mooted transfer has been on the cards for much of the summer but De Bruyne's Volkswagen Arena colleague Naldo has pleaded with the attacking midfielder to remain in the Bundesliga with the Wolves.

"The team has great confidence in him," Naldo told Bild.

"This is also an important point for Kevin.

"He can do practically whatever he wants with us on the field. He has all the freedom. I do not know if he will get that if he goes anywhere else.

"Kevin makes the difference for us. We don't have a comparable player in the squad. If we were to lose him, it would be huge a loss of quality."
