Newcastle United skipper Fabricio Coloccini says the club has to accept the criticism among the good results.
The Magpies beat Chelsea 2-0 last week but that result has not yet glossed over some disappointing losses to the likes of Sunderland, Everton and Hull City.
Coloccini, who is set to return from a month out with a groin injury, says Newcastle can kick on against Tottenham this weekend but insists that the club has to remain realistic going forward.
"We are working hard and we want the same as the fans," Coloccini told the Evening Chronicle.
"They want results, and we want them as well. We are working for that.
"We are going to have bad times and good times. We have to be quiet and accept the criticism.
"Sometimes it is maybe realistic if we do not get the results."
