WC2018: Arnautovic hits Austria double as Stoke teammate Allen scores for Wales

Austria fought back twice in Vienna to eventually force a 2-2 draw with Wales in World Cup qualifying on Thursday night.

Marko Arnautovic scored both goals for Austria who fell behind when his Stoke City teammate Joe Allen fired home a superb volley in the 22nd minute.

Arnautovic responded six minutes later with a clever bouncing header from David Alaba's cross to make it 1-1 before an own-goal from Kevin Wimmer had Chris Coleman's Dragons ahead on stoppage time of the first half.

Just three minutes into the second half, Austria had levelled again when Arnautovic pounced an ill-directed pass from Allen before finding his way through he Welsh defence.

In the end, it was a decent point for both sides as they added the draw to their opening group stage wins to sit third (Austria) and first (Wales) on the Group D table.

Marcel Koller's team next take on Serbia in Belgrade on Sunday as Wales get set to host Georgia in Cardiff.
