Newcastle United youth coach Dave Watson has joined the first team staff.
Watson has stepped up to assist John Carver and Steve Stone as part of the first-team back room team.
Carver said: "What I have done is given Steve (Stone) and Dave (Watson) more responsibility because they are very good at what they do, and it is important that you delegate to those who are talented."
It is believed that Peter Beardsley will continue to work with the club's Under-21 set-up.
