Sunderland have revealed that they accepted a bid from Watford for Younes Kabul.
The Black Cats released a statement on their official website on Thursday evening confirming that the Frenchman has been given permission to speak to the Hornets regarding a summer transfer.
Kabul has asked to leave Sunderland but admits it has been a tough decision having only arrived at the Stadium of Light from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
"This is not an easy situation for me, but the club and the manager have shown an understanding of my personal circumstances and I am grateful for that," he said.
"The Sunderland fans have supported me fantastically well since I came to the club, they gave me my passion back and I sincerely thank them for that. I hope they understand that I have made this incredibly difficult decision for me."
The Sunderland statement read: 'Sunderland AFC can confirm that it has accepted a bid from Watford for Younes Kaboul.
