Lucas Neill's last-ditch attempt at making Australia's World Cup squad took a hit this week.
The 36-year old former Socceroos captain, who is on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Watford, suffered a hamstring injury in Tuesday night's 2-1 loss to Bolton.
Neill will have scans this week to determine the extent of the problem which forced him off in the 65th minute to be replaced by Gabriel Tamas.
It is believed that Neill's substitution was mainly precautionary as he strives to play regular games ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Since arriving at the Keepmoat Stadium, the former Millwall, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United defender has made three starts for the South Yorkshire club which sits 19th on England's tier two table.
