Watford have replaced Crystal Palace as the favourites to sign Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
Getafe want to keep the Spaniard, but they're also wary of his contract expiring at the end of the season and would prefer not to be left empty handed.
The two Premier League clubs are hoping to capitalise on the situation and are hopeful of signing the 30-year-old for as little as £3.5m.
As talks between Crystal Palace and Guaita have stalled, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims Watford are close to convincing the former Valencia man.
Guaita has conceded just 16 goals in 17 La Liga outings this season.
