Watford have missed out on the signing of Zdravko Kuzmanovic to Swiss side FC Basel.

Premier League new boys Watford displayed their signal of intent by plotting a double swoop for Inter Milan duo Davide Santon and Kuzmanovic recently.

However, Santon has already stated that he is not interested in a move to Vicarage Road and in another huge blow, the Hornets have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Kuzmanovic after the Serbian agreed to join Swiss giants – and his first professional club – Basel on a five-year deal.
