Watford midfielder Abdi on verge of Sheffield Wednesday move

Almen Abdi is on the verge of departing Watford to join Sheffield Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, the Swiss midfielder has passed medical with the Owls and will now complete a £4million move to Hillsborough after the two clubs agreed the aforementioned fee.

29-year-old Abdi initially arrived at Vicarage Road on loan from Udinese in 2012 before penning a permanent deal in the summer of 2013. During his time with the Hornets, the former Zurich star made 131 appearances in all competitions for the Hertfordshire outfit.

It is understood that Abdi has agreed a three-year deal with Wednesday.
