Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann admits he's excited by talk of interest from Manchester United.

The Austria international is seen at United as cover for David de Gea as they prepare to allow Dean Henderson to leave.

Bachmann knows he would likely be second choice in Manchester but told Krone that it is an "honour" to be linked with the Old Trafford club.

He said: "There was contact, it wasn't out of thin air.

"I don't know if the team boss [Ralf Rangnick] has a say in the transfers. Hey, it's Manchester United, a huge honour if a club like that is interested in you."
