Watford boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign permanently on-loan Chelsea defender Jack Cork.

Rodgers said: "From Chelsea's perspective their idea for Jack next year will probably be to go on loan in the Premier League, but there is a lot of work to do between now and the end of the season in relation to that.

"What I do know is that he loves it at Watford and has a real affinity with the place so if there is anything to be done on it, then there is absolutely no doubt that we would do that.

"We have the support from the board to do that, which they have already expressed. If it was a case of does he want to come, then yes he would, but he is in a different situation and we just need to assess it between now and the end of the season."
