Watford boss Sanchez Flores: What we said at halftime

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores says he didn't give his players an inspirational half-time talk against Arsenal.

The Hornets entered the interval down by two goals but eventually clawed their way back to secure a 2-2 draw.

"I reminded them about how we played in the first 15, 20 minutes," he said.

"I said we could do it again and we tried to take care about their counter-attacks because these kind of counter-attacks is where they were making goals.

"We tried to avoid these kinds of situations and we tried to play a different match because the first-half we lost 2-0 so we tried to go for a new match in the second-half.

"To concede the first goal was difficult for us. We were not ready to concede again and this kind of kicked in our brain and in our head. We were not ready, we were playing well, so I think we didn't deserve to concede the first goal.

"The players, it's normal, they were a little bit down and tried to recuperate a little bit their memory about what happened in some matches before. It's normal, it's football, human beings playing football."
