Watford boss Pearson won't rush injured duo Welbeck, Cleverley

Watford boss Nigel Pearson says he is not in a rush to bring Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley back into the fold.

The two are recovering from injuries, and Pearson does not want to push them too hard too soon.

Welbeck has been out since a hamstring problem he picked up in October, while Cleverly suffered a foot injury around the same time.

"Danny is back out on the grass so he is making good progress," said Pearson to reporters.

"Cleverley is still a while away. I don't want to put a time frame on that. When he is back, I want him back for good.

"I don't want to put players at risk just for the sake of another couple of weeks. I want to make sure they are absolutely right."
