Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie is stunned by claims he has run down playing for Scotland.
The Daily Record says he's fuming that comments captured in the Sheffield United tunnel before their EFL Cup tie against Blackburn were said to be taken out of context.
The £20million striker has been criticised by fans online after being caught saying he hoped he wouldn't be called up for his country because it was s***e.
But McBurnie already knew Steve Clarke had included him in his squad for the Euro 2020 double-header with Russia and Belgium when the footage was taken.
McBurnie was bantering with Scots pal John Fleck, who is usually his room-mate on international duty.
So it appears Mcburnie hopes he isn’t called up and thinks playing for Scotland is shite then....
Simple solution then. Don’t play. Give your spot to someone who actually wants to play for their country.
