John O'Shea once had to take the gloves for Manchester United in a Premier League match back in 2007.
The Irish defender, now with Sunderland, stepped into the keeping role after Edin van der Sar was forced off with a broken nose in United's 4-0 win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Rio Ferdinand has actually taken the keeper's shirt before O'Shea took over and he performed brilliantly, coming out of the area to tackle Robbie Keane as he advanced goal-ward.
United recalled the moment by posting a video on their Twitter page on Thursday evening and it shows the brilliant reaction of Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
A young Cristiano Ronaldo, however, seems nonplussed. Then again, the great man probably sees this as a simple part of anybody's game!
For the record, Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, Paul Scholes and Giggs were on the scoresheet that day.
