Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has paid tribute to former teammate Tommy Smith after he passed away on Friday night at the age of 74.
Born in Liverpool in 1945, Smith made 638 appearances for the club after making his debut in 1960, scoring 48 goals and winning nine major trophies, as well as captaining the Reds for three years.
Dalglish credited Smith with helping him settle at the club.
"It's very sad," said Dalglish. "Tommy was a fantastic servant to Liverpool Football Club.
"He left just after I came, when I came down in 1977... he was an integral part of the dressing room and looked after me, helping me settle in."
