A favourite at former club Southampton, Yoshida has enjoyed similar cult status at Sampdoria where he moved last year.

Under the guidance of coach Claudio Ranieri, Yoshida impressed in his first full season in Italy as he helped Samp comfortably survive in Serie A with his whole-hearted defensive ability.
