AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas has published a clip of buying former Chelsea teammate Willy Caballero a Range Rover after being outdone in a penalty contest.
The incident was originally recalled by former PSG goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, now of PSG.
Fabregas, at the time, said that if Cabellero could save his penalty he would buy him a Range Rover. The Spaniard admitted he was "confident" he would score.
However, the Argentine stopper got a hand to the ball and saved Fabregas' attempt in front of the whole Chelsea squad. The midfielder explained: "I went from feeling the most confident, to feeling the most stupid guy on earth."
Fabregas didn't back away from the bet and stuck to his word, but that didn't stop him getting creative.
In the Instagram post, he wrote: "Everybody obviously was shouting and laughing that I had to pay my debt. I went to a scrapyard and I found a destroyed Range Rover that couldn't be used at all for £950 so I said, you know what? I'll get that."
be used at all for £950 so I said, you know what? I’ll get that. The next day they they brought to the training ground and well... I’ll show you the rest on a video. The lesson of the story is: Don’t bet at all at any cost. pic.twitter.com/NURhfzmYF6 — Cesc Fàbregas Soler (@cesc4official) March 15, 2020
