Wantaway Vaz Te happy to be playing again for West Ham

West Ham United striker Ricardo Vaz Te is happy to be playing again.

Vaz Te discussed the decision to ask for a transfer just before deadline day and the frustration of not being a regular in manager Sam Allardyce's team.

"Obviously I enjoy playing," said the Portuguese striker. "That's the reason I came here to West Ham and the reason why I am in this business.

"I can only keep knocking on the manager's door and saying I deserve to play and I am ready.

"I've been asked to play in different positions and I've done that as much as possible for the benefit of the team and tried not to be selfish but this season has been quite frustrating because I haven't been the first option and I think I deserve to be.

"I was happy to get 90 minutes against Cardiff though and I just have to keep on going and show I deserve to play.

"I expressed my desire to leave because I want to play, I'm not 18 any more. I have huge respect for everyone. I didn't say I wanted to leave to hurt anybody - I just want to play.

"The transfer request was to show I just want to play but if I can't do that here, I have to move.

"People sometimes take too long to move on but I don't have time for that. If I know I'm not going to play then I have to move on. My attitude is always the same, to work hard, improve and get in the team."
