Stoke City striker Jonathan Walters has welcomed reports the return of Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi is edging closer.
Walters is up for a fight for a place in Mark Hughes's plans this season.
He told The Sentinel: "Ossie's a good player. I'm not sure where we are with the deal, but he was obviously good for us last year, he knows the place and everyone knows him.
"It would be ideal if we can get a player who you know can slot in straight away and doesn't have to get to know everyone.
"Over two yards he's very quick. He's very sharp over two yards, a winger with very sharp feet and he just needs those two yards to beat his man. He's exciting."
