Former Brazil international striker Wagner Love has revealed he was blocked from playing in England.
Love says CSKA Moscow refused to sell him at the time.
He recalled: "A year after winning the UEFA Cup, CSKA played with Arsenal, and they informed me about a possible transfer, but there was no specific offer.
"Portsmouth and Everton made official offers, but (CSKA president Yevgeny) Giner was a tough negotiator and did not allow me to leave CSKA.
"Years went by and eventually I didn't get the opportunity to play in England. I have always watched the Premier League matches and I still remember Henry and Rooney playing the main roles at Arsenal and Manchester United."
