New Chelsea technical chief Christopher Vivell is joining the battle for Borussia Monchengldbach midfielder Kouadio Kone.

Kone has attracted interest from West Ham and Newcastle this season, with Glabach willing to sell.

And English transfer expert Simon Phillips is reporting Vivell wants to bring Kone to Chelsea in January.

Gladbach signed Kone 18 months ago from Toulouse for €9m.

BILD says Gladbach are prepared to sell Kone in January to help balance the books.
